I had the same issue yesterday. I really need to see the participants when sharing the screen, but I could not. Links posted in the chat are not clickable. Students using Chromebooks need to copy, navigate to browser, paste and go.
This is a barrier for many students and teachers. Zoom needs to fast track the full browser version release date. If you post a link in chat, the link will not be clickable on chromebooks. This is a major issue in my opinion. It is hard for young students and students with disabilities to copy it, open a new window, and paste. This should be an easy fix!!!
Since ChromeOS apps are being phased out by Google, I’d recommend they switch to using the web client, which already has more features than the ChromeOS app.
View solution in original post. Kind of makes the app useless on a Chromebook if the event you’re trying to join has E2E enabled. So currently this is only half a solution, or with privacy compliancy rules in mind, which make using E2E mandatory and rightfully so!
This is not a solution. I cannot begin to emphasize how enormous of an oversight this is. Yes but again the pwa doesnt support gallery view in my hp chrome book. I have the same problem. I cannot join the meeting from the client app since it needs to be but cannot be upgraded.
And I cannot join the meeting from the PWA because it does not support end-to-end encryption What a dilemma This is crucial. No E2E-support, while the organizer of this event I want to join only offers an E2E-connection and rightly so!
This is currently killing it for Chromebook users. The webapp is not supported anymore, while the PWA is not supporting the necessary features. Very very frustrating! Today I experienced a full Zoom-meeting lockout, with my beloved Chromebook for no apparent reason. Delete zoom app. Update chromebook. Re download zoom app. Should work but sometimes takes a week.
